Why Hello There!!

Hello there!  It has been almost 1.5 years since I last blogged. I have been very busy with my hobbies and school. Some things I do are new, for example now I like paper crafts, pottery and  running.  I like drawing more often too.

Dress: Sequin Hearts
Boots: Arizona
Hair Clip: Target
I thought I would share this picture with you! My whole family had our picture taken in a friends barn.  In the picture,  I chose the boots because they are cute and they fit the rustic theme.  I like the pattern on the dress because the lace and stripes make a cute combination with these colors.  The hair style is an easy simple do with a sparkly hair clip.

I promise I will try to blog more often! Check back again soon!

XOXO,

Maddi

It's My Dance Recital!!

Last Saturday was my Dance Recital. At my studio the first Act is dances such as tap, hip hop, jazz and the little kids ballet. This year I got to be in the "Big Girl Ballet" in the second Act.

We did Mary Poppins and my class was the Little Birdies who danced after the Bird Lady. I get tired of dance sometimes and even want to quit but once we start rehearsals for the show it all gets fun again. Next year I will be old enough to take Hip Hop!!

Summer is here! The next post will be about Summer! Thanks for visiting my blog!!

Special Saturday Pedicure

Today my mani became a pedi. My Mom surprised me by taking me to a nearby nail salon to have my first ever pedicure! It was very fun. I didn't know what to expect when I went in but I thought it was fun experiencing a new thing. It's much better and easier than painting your own toes.

My salon had a kid sized chair. I got the pink chair. It was the one closest to the adults so I could sit by my mom.

First they had me soak my feet in bubbling warm water with something that sprinkled in. I am not sure what it is called. I asked my mom what it was and she said it makes the bubbles in the foot bath.

After trimming my nails, she painted them in a color that I had picked out. I forgot to get the name of the polish (sorry!) to post but it is very similiar to the polish my friend Elena gave me only a little darker. To see the polish Elena gave me - click here.

Then we walked over and to where you dry your toes under a light. They also have a spray like Elena's you can use if you are in a hurry. It was empty and my Mom's toes were taking forever to dry. Mine dried fast.

All in all, it was the best new thing ever! I can't wait til I go back. But I still need to paint my nails when I get home. After all it's Saturday!

Saturday Manicure on Friday with Elena

Hi everybody! This is my friend Elena. She came home with me after school yesterday and we did our nails together. A few weeks ago, Elena went on a shopping trip and brought me back some nail polish. We used it to paint our nails. I needed practice.

A good tip  is to put wax paper under your hands to keep the polish off the table.

Another tip is I use a blow dryer to dry my nails faster. Elena uses a spray that you buy then put on your nails. I think I am going to have to get some of that spray!

This is us all done! Don't we look good? It's a purpley pink color. It looks purple in the bottle but more pink when you put it on. But I love it! Did you paint your nails today? It's Saturday!

All the Girls Together for Easter

This is all of us together. It doesn't happen very often anymore. So I love it when it
does. I promised that I would show you what I wore on Easter in an earlier post so here it is. Notice that I am wearing lace and so are my older sisters. It seems lace is very big this year. Sophie just wanted a full princess dress that sparkled.

An Egg Hunt! Finally!

I hope you read my guest post by my cousin Kaitlynn. Remember when my egg hunt got rained out? (click here)  I finally got to go to one last weekend.

This me with my niece Sophie. We are so excited! The egg hunt is on a local farm and is our church egg hunt. I found 38 eggs. My niece is a toddler so she only found 13 eggs. And I think some of those were mine that she took out of my basket.

We had so much fun! They hid some real eggs in the trees for us to find. They did not break. I can't wait to show you my Easter dress. That will be my next post.

Easter at Granny's

dresses and headbands:  Kaitlynn - Justice,
Taylor - Crazy 8
Hi! My name is Kaitlynn and I'm Maddi's cousin. In this picture we are at our grandmother's house taking pictures of our Easter dresses. As you can see there are not many boys in this family. We are all girls (poor dads)!
I'm the one wearing the blue headband. My sister and I are the ones with the braids. It may seem weird but that's what the girls wear in alot of places like Jamaica.  We just got back from a beach trip where we had our hair braided. We'll have to take them down for school pictures this week but it was fun to try something different.

Check back tomorrow to see what Maddi wore on Easter! Thanks for visiting the blog!

Saturday Manicure - Press On Nails

These are not my Easter nails. There is no way that my Mom would let me wear them to church. Or probably anywhere out at
all. I like french style things and these are french tips. They have glitter on them. I found them at Justice - one of my favorite stores.
I finally made it to an egg hunt. Remember my one last week got rained out (click here). Check back to see what I wore! Thanks for visiting my blog!

Ready, Set, Shop - at Gap Kids

This is me at Gap Kids on my recent shopping trip. I am  trying on outfits. I liked the shorts and the flip-flops in the one to the right but I didn't like the sweater.

I don't like the color of the dress in the middle or the shape. I did like the fabric as it was as comfortable as a t-shirt. Overall this dress was a little plain for me.

The last outfit, I didn't like it at all. I didn't think it was me. Mom made me try it on because I've seen things I didn't like on the hanger and once I tried it on I did like it. But not this outfit.

These are a few of the outfits that I tried on at Gap Kids, but not all of what I tried on. You will have to check back as I will continue to post outfits from my shopping trip to see what I found that was just my style.

It's a Shopping Trip!

We're off on another trip! Dad has a business trip this week and Mom and I are going with him.

When he is in meetings - that means shopping for us! Yea! I found some clothes from children's stores on the internet that I liked. I hope that I can find them when we go the the mall.

This outfit is great for traveling (and shopping!) because it's easy, comfortable and is great for all weather. You never know what the weather will be like when you are traveling. Did you notice my jewelry? Remember in my post DIY Leather Bracelet I told you to watch for it in an upcoming outfit? Well, here it is. I love wearing it!

Check back as I will be uploading some pics of my shopping trip later in the week.

What I Wore - To an Egg Hunt

This post was supposed to be what I wore to an Egg Hunt. But it turned out to be more of a "what I got dressed in to wear to an egg hunt that got rained out" kind of outfit.  But I thought that I would show you any way as Easter is still a week away. There's plenty of time left to organize another egg hunt. And another chance to wear the outfit!

What I Wore: dress - Justice, leggings - unknown,
shoes - Faded Glory, basket - Easter Bunny

This is not my Easter dress but I like the colors and think that it looks 'springy' even though I got it last Fall. There are little sequins scattered across the dress and a band of sequins around the bottom layer which gives it the dressy look that I like. Another Egg Hunt is scheduled for Saturday, maybe I can wear it there.
P.S. I got a Superior Rating at my Piano Competition. To see more about what I wore click here.

What I Wore - To School

Waiting to Leave for School
This is me hanging out. Just waiting to leave for school. Yesterday was a rainy, stormy day so it was a little cooler and so I thought I might need a thicker jacket to wear over my outfit jacket but it ended up being fine without it.

I would wear this outfit anywhere. It's great for school but also nice enough to go out to dinner with my parents. It is one of my favorite combinations. The jacket is what dresses it up. Without the jacket it is just a t-shirt and cropped jeans but the jacket makes it more stylish.

I like to swing on the playground at recess. So even though I love dresses and skirts, sometimes wearing jeans are a better option for school. I like wearing jeans with a dressier look and these are just about perfect.

jacket - Total Girl
