My Dog and Me

This is me. And this is Sweetie. She is my Yorkie. I got her for Christmas and she still weighs only 2.5 pounds. She is more hair than dog.

I was getting ready for church and had to get one last cuddle in before I left. You've seen this dress before (click here to see the full view) but my jewelery is new.

I got the ring at JC Penny's in the Junior Department and the earrings are from Claire's. I love the ring because it is sparkly and glittery and the earrings are dangley and have music notes on them. I don't think I will get to wear them to school but I can wear them around the house or when I am dressing up.

I have some more summer photos so check back soon.

Great Beach Hair

bathing suit - Dream Girl

I love going to the beach.  I normally don't like my hair in braids but when I want to go in the water they come in handy. When I wear this style of braids, I usually put a head band across the front as an accessory. But when going in the water, I always take it off so I don't lose it.

My cousin Taylor has a cute beach style. She has beautiful super bright blonde hair. Taylor puts her hair in a low pony tail then puts another pony tail holder in the middle to make it a Jasmine braid. If you have longer hair, just use more pony tail holders.

Next time you'll see some beach fun. Thanks for visiting my blog!

Have You Missed Me?

Hi Everybody! Have you missed me? I've been to the beach!! Every year my Mom's side of the family goes to Pawley's Island, SC and hangs out on the beach together. It was a blast!!

This is a picture of the 'kids' in the family. My oldest sister had already left to go back to work when we made this photo. She is a CSI which is really cool!!

Check back as I am going to post tips for the beach over the next few days. Thanks for visiting!

Finding the Perfect Bathing Suit

These are the bathing suits that I bought to wear this summer. It's hard to find just the right bathing suit. Here are some things that I look for when shopping.

  1. Find the style that works best for you. I like two pieces with straps that are easy to put on and easy to play in.
  2. When you try the suit on in the store, be sure to move around to be sure that it is easy to play in. A good way to do that is to jump around in the dressing room. If it feels funny - don't buy it.
  3. Pick colors that you love or think look best on you.
  4. Pick suits that look a little different. You don't want to feel like you are wearing the same suit every day.
Each of my suits has a different strap and a different shape. This makes them different while all being two piece bathing suits. Don't just pick the first suit you try one. Keep shopping - you will find the perfect bathing suit for you.

What I Wore to the Pool

cover up - Radio Fiji
hat - Target
towel - Mom's
It's summer! That means that I go swimming nearly every day. I love the pool!! This what I wear when I go to the club.

You need a cover up to go up to the restaurant at my club. They come down and take orders for food but to get ice cream you have to go up there and you must be dressed.

I don't always wear the hat but it is great to have at hand. I like this hat because it shades my face really well. This is great if you want to sit out and read for a bit - but I rarely do. I'm always swimming with my friends!

Next blog we'll talk bathing suits - check back soon!

Saturday Manicure - Not!!

So my mani became a pedi - again!!

Dad went out of town for a golf trip. That means pedicures!! I got a french pedicure this time. My mom got a french manicure. I like the way the white tips look. Mine got a little messed up because I can't sit still but the lady was nice and fixed it for me.

I haven't shown you manicures for the last few Saturdays because I was unable to wear nail polish at my piano and dance recitals. But that is over and Saturday Manicures is back!!

I will probably be showing you alot of toes as I like to wear flip flops in the summer. I also like to go barefoot so I will try to keep my toes painted more.

Hope you have a great Memorial Day!!

It's My Dance Recital!!

Last Saturday was my Dance Recital. At my studio the first Act is dances such as tap, hip hop, jazz and the little kids ballet. This year I got to be in the "Big Girl Ballet" in the second Act.

We did Mary Poppins and my class was the Little Birdies who danced after the Bird Lady. I get tired of dance sometimes and even want to quit but once we start rehearsals for the show it all gets fun again. Next year I will be old enough to take Hip Hop!!

Summer is here! The next post will be about Summer! Thanks for visiting my blog!!

What I Wore to a Graduation Lunch

What I Wore:
shirt - Cherokee
shorts - Cherokee
shoes - Gap
bracelet - unknown
necklace - Xhiliration

This post was orginally supposed to be What I Wore to Graduation but my dress got wet. It rained last night and the graduation was outside this morning. I wore a long maxi dress covered with flowers. FYI - don't wear long dresses if you are going to be outside where it is wet and muddy.

So we ran home before the lunch so I could change clothes. I decided to wear this short outfit so I would be more comfortable. The shorts are lace which makes it dressy. The hem has a scalloped edge that is not really for me but I like the overall look of lace shorts. Everybody seems to want a pair this year.

The bright pink shoes and accessories give the outfit some color which I like. Today is a busy day with Phillip's graduation and tonight is my dance recital. Watch for the pictures!

The Perfect Pair of Shoes

This may be the most perfect pair of shoes - ever!!  Pink Five Fingers are what I've always wanted!! I like them because my oldest sister has a pair and I like her style. I like how they feel and they are GREAT playground shoes. It is hard to find the perfect fit in Five Fingers but worth finding just the right pair.

I like the Keene's because they are waterproof and more importantly they are PURPLE!! These are not as great for the playground as wood chips get in but I think they will be great at the beach.

Next week will be busy with ballet rehearsals for the big recital coming up but I'll post again soon.

Hair Chalk and the Pony Tail

Succoni Hair Chalk

Look what Mom found - Hair Chalk!!  I saw this on tv and wanted some but Mom found it at CVS yesterday. She got one set for me. And another set for me to take to Elena's when I spend the night tonight.

It is easy to do but you have to press really hard to do it so it sort of hurts. Sometimes - okay about always - it hurts alot. But you may not be tenderheaded like I am. But I think it was worth it! I remembered the saying beauty hurts because I tried it last night but this is how my pony tail looks that I am wearing to school today.

It really is fun to wear and looks really good. Here's a tip - use little sections of hair - it doesn't pull as much and covers better. But be careful - chalk dust will be everywhere. Gotta go eat breakfast! Thanks for visiting and come back soon!!

And the Results Are....

Remember when I put a poll up asking what is your style?
(if not click here)
Hanna Andersson

I promised to tell you which style won. Simple won! Lots of people chose Simple. I bet it is because it would be easy to play in. Nearly twice as many people voted for Simple over Dressy. And Dressy beat out Sporty. I voted for Dressy but that is only because I like dresses and lots of jewelry. But I think Simple is perfect for after swimming or after a day at the beach. I'm going to the beach soon, maybe I should shop a simple dress. What do you think?

Saturday's Nails

Sorry this post is late! This weekend I was really busy! Friday was a birthday slumber party for my cousin - Taylor. Then on Saturday I had another birthday party - bowling with my friend Kayleigh. Then today I went to a choir concert for my cousin - Kaitlynn.

I am just getting the time to do my nails. Today I am using Claire's Club Nail set. It has two sets in the package and each set has two colors with a crackle effect. I got this Friday from Granny. She is always giving me fashionable things that she thinks I will like. I do!! Thanks Granny!

These nails are peel and stick, easy to wear and easy to take off. You should give them a try! I am working on my next post and will have it up in a day or two. Thanks for visiting and check back tomorrow!

What I Wore to the School Art Show

leotard and tight - Capezio
necklace - gift from Elena

Want to guess what I wore to my school art show? My ballet outfit! Normally I would have worn an actual outfit but the art show was on a Thursday. And I have dance on Thursday. I didn't want to miss either one so I decided to go as I was. I barely made it for the pizza dinner.

I didn't want to miss my special day at the art show! My picture is the one on the purple sheet with the flower.

By the way, this is my classic pose when Dad is taking my picture with his phone. It looks like first position in ballet. Or starting position in tap.

Check back soon!

Special Saturday Pedicure

Today my mani became a pedi. My Mom surprised me by taking me to a nearby nail salon to have my first ever pedicure! It was very fun. I didn't know what to expect when I went in but I thought it was fun experiencing a new thing. It's much better and easier than painting your own toes.

My salon had a kid sized chair. I got the pink chair. It was the one closest to the adults so I could sit by my mom.

First they had me soak my feet in bubbling warm water with something that sprinkled in. I am not sure what it is called. I asked my mom what it was and she said it makes the bubbles in the foot bath.

After trimming my nails, she painted them in a color that I had picked out. I forgot to get the name of the polish (sorry!) to post but it is very similiar to the polish my friend Elena gave me only a little darker. To see the polish Elena gave me - click here.

Then we walked over and to where you dry your toes under a light. They also have a spray like Elena's you can use if you are in a hurry. It was empty and my Mom's toes were taking forever to dry. Mine dried fast.

All in all, it was the best new thing ever! I can't wait til I go back. But I still need to paint my nails when I get home. After all it's Saturday!

Art + Fashion = Me!

Fashion is an art. And for the last six weeks I've been exploring a different type of art. I've been taking clay sculpting lessons! So I thought that I would show you one of my sculptures. I learned how to make a coil, how to bond clay and even how to make a spoon. But one of my favorite pieces is my dog Sweetie - made out of clay.

Sweetie is 6 months old and is a Yorkie. I got her for Christmas from Santa. She only weighs less than three pounds and is very fast. I am holding her in my profile picture if you want to see the real Sweetie. This is just a clay model.

If you haven't voted your favorite style, go ahead and vote. I voted for Dressy. I can't wait to see what you vote!

What's Your Style?

I know what I like. Now tell me what you like. Which outfit is most you?

Thanks for voting! I'll let you know which style is the favorite soon.

Shopping at J Crew

Remember that shopping spree? If not click here. I told you that you would be hearing more about it. Here it is. These are a few of the outfits I tried at J Crew.

I like the purse because it glitters and I love everything that glitters!  Purple glittery is even better! I like the hairband and shirt because I like flowers.

Here I like the shirt and the skirt but not together. I would wear the shirt with shorts. Notice it's glittery! But I don't think I would wear the skirt much and would not wear the hat at all.

I like these shorts, kinda, but not the sweater. Because it is Spring and I wouldn't want to wear it very much because it is warm here in the Spring and gets very hot in the summer.

Soon there will be a fun post where you get to guess what I bought. I can't wait to show you. Check back soon!

Saturday Manicure on Friday with Elena

Hi everybody! This is my friend Elena. She came home with me after school yesterday and we did our nails together. A few weeks ago, Elena went on a shopping trip and brought me back some nail polish. We used it to paint our nails. I needed practice.

A good tip  is to put wax paper under your hands to keep the polish off the table.

Another tip is I use a blow dryer to dry my nails faster. Elena uses a spray that you buy then put on your nails. I think I am going to have to get some of that spray!

This is us all done! Don't we look good? It's a purpley pink color. It looks purple in the bottle but more pink when you put it on. But I love it! Did you paint your nails today? It's Saturday!

All the Girls Together for Easter

What I Wore: dress and shoes - Crazy 8,
purse - J Crew, sweater - J Khaki,
bow -  unknown

This is all of us together. It doesn't happen very often anymore. So I love it when it
does. I promised that I would show you what I wore on Easter in an earlier post so here it is. Notice that I am wearing lace and so are my older sisters. It seems lace is very big this year. Sophie just wanted a full princess dress that sparkled.

I did my Saturday manicure a day early this week with my friend Elena. Check back so you can see us in action. Thanks for visiting!

An Egg Hunt! Finally!

I hope you read my guest post by my cousin Kaitlynn. Remember when my egg hunt got rained out? (click here)  I finally got to go to one last weekend.

This me with my niece Sophie. We are so excited! The egg hunt is on a local farm and is our church egg hunt. I found 38 eggs. My niece is a toddler so she only found 13 eggs. And I think some of those were mine that she took out of my basket.

We had so much fun! They hid some real eggs in the trees for us to find. They did not break. I can't wait to show you my Easter dress. That will be my next post.

Easter at Granny's

dresses and headbands:  Kaitlynn - Justice,
Taylor - Crazy 8
Hi! My name is Kaitlynn and I'm Maddi's cousin. In this picture we are at our grandmother's house taking pictures of our Easter dresses. As you can see there are not many boys in this family. We are all girls (poor dads)!
I'm the one wearing the blue headband. My sister and I are the ones with the braids. It may seem weird but that's what the girls wear in alot of places like Jamaica.  We just got back from a beach trip where we had our hair braided. We'll have to take them down for school pictures this week but it was fun to try something different.

Check back tomorrow to see what Maddi wore on Easter! Thanks for visiting the blog!

Saturday Manicure - Press On Nails

These are not my Easter nails. There is no way that my Mom would let me wear them to church. Or probably anywhere out at
all. I like french style things and these are french tips. They have glitter on them. I found them at Justice - one of my favorite stores.
I finally made it to an egg hunt. Remember my one last week got rained out (click here). Check back to see what I wore! Thanks for visiting my blog!
