An Egg Hunt! Finally!

I hope you read my guest post by my cousin Kaitlynn. Remember when my egg hunt got rained out? (click here)  I finally got to go to one last weekend.

This me with my niece Sophie. We are so excited! The egg hunt is on a local farm and is our church egg hunt. I found 38 eggs. My niece is a toddler so she only found 13 eggs. And I think some of those were mine that she took out of my basket.

We had so much fun! They hid some real eggs in the trees for us to find. They did not break. I can't wait to show you my Easter dress. That will be my next post.

Easter at Granny's

dresses and headbands:  Kaitlynn - Justice,
Taylor - Crazy 8
Hi! My name is Kaitlynn and I'm Maddi's cousin. In this picture we are at our grandmother's house taking pictures of our Easter dresses. As you can see there are not many boys in this family. We are all girls (poor dads)!
I'm the one wearing the blue headband. My sister and I are the ones with the braids. It may seem weird but that's what the girls wear in alot of places like Jamaica.  We just got back from a beach trip where we had our hair braided. We'll have to take them down for school pictures this week but it was fun to try something different.

Check back tomorrow to see what Maddi wore on Easter! Thanks for visiting the blog!

Ready, Set, Shop - at Gap Kids

This is me at Gap Kids on my recent shopping trip. I am  trying on outfits. I liked the shorts and the flip-flops in the one to the right but I didn't like the sweater.

I don't like the color of the dress in the middle or the shape. I did like the fabric as it was as comfortable as a t-shirt. Overall this dress was a little plain for me.

The last outfit, I didn't like it at all. I didn't think it was me. Mom made me try it on because I've seen things I didn't like on the hanger and once I tried it on I did like it. But not this outfit.

These are a few of the outfits that I tried on at Gap Kids, but not all of what I tried on. You will have to check back as I will continue to post outfits from my shopping trip to see what I found that was just my style.

It's a Shopping Trip!

We're off on another trip! Dad has a business trip this week and Mom and I are going with him.

When he is in meetings - that means shopping for us! Yea! I found some clothes from children's stores on the internet that I liked. I hope that I can find them when we go the the mall.

This outfit is great for traveling (and shopping!) because it's easy, comfortable and is great for all weather. You never know what the weather will be like when you are traveling. Did you notice my jewelry? Remember in my post DIY Leather Bracelet I told you to watch for it in an upcoming outfit? Well, here it is. I love wearing it!

Check back as I will be uploading some pics of my shopping trip later in the week.

What I Wore - To an Egg Hunt

This post was supposed to be what I wore to an Egg Hunt. But it turned out to be more of a "what I got dressed in to wear to an egg hunt that got rained out" kind of outfit.  But I thought that I would show you any way as Easter is still a week away. There's plenty of time left to organize another egg hunt. And another chance to wear the outfit!

What I Wore: dress - Justice, leggings - unknown,
shoes - Faded Glory, basket - Easter Bunny

This is not my Easter dress but I like the colors and think that it looks 'springy' even though I got it last Fall. There are little sequins scattered across the dress and a band of sequins around the bottom layer which gives it the dressy look that I like. Another Egg Hunt is scheduled for Saturday, maybe I can wear it there.
P.S. I got a Superior Rating at my Piano Competition. To see more about what I wore click here.

What I Wore - To School

Waiting to Leave for School
This is me hanging out. Just waiting to leave for school. Yesterday was a rainy, stormy day so it was a little cooler and so I thought I might need a thicker jacket to wear over my outfit jacket but it ended up being fine without it.

I would wear this outfit anywhere. It's great for school but also nice enough to go out to dinner with my parents. It is one of my favorite combinations. The jacket is what dresses it up. Without the jacket it is just a t-shirt and cropped jeans but the jacket makes it more stylish.

I like to swing on the playground at recess. So even though I love dresses and skirts, sometimes wearing jeans are a better option for school. I like wearing jeans with a dressier look and these are just about perfect.

Playing Music with Style

I take piano lessons and every year the piano teachers in my area hold an annual piano competition for their students. Mine was this past weekend.

I chose this outfit because I wanted to look nice but be comfortable. The dress is longer in the back than the front so I didn't have to worry about tripping as I made my way to the piano when it was my turn. I really like this dress because it has sheer fabric all around the bottom. The shoes have straps so they will stay on my feet since my feet don't touch the ground when I sit on the piano bench. (That is kind of important!)  The shrug is light weight and has a few sequins scattered across the front. Remember, I like to be a little dressy!

I was really nervous this year. My songs were much longer and harder than before. But I think I did okay. I will find out when I go to my next piano class. Keep your fingers crossed!

What I Wore:

dress - pinky
shoes - faded glory
shrug - justice

Casual but Dressy

Ready for Church

This is an outfit I wear to church but it's also a good school dress when you need to look a little nicer than normal.

My church has two services - Traditional and Contemporary. I wouldn't wear this outfit to the Traditional Service but I did yesterday to the Contemporary where it is more casual and even has a band!

Even though it is a little dressy, you can easily play in it on the playground and it would be a perfect outfit for picture day.

This dress is sleeveless but I wear it now with a blue jean jacket and flats. When it gets warmer, I'll trade the flats for cute sandals.

A spring dress + a jean jacket = one cute outfit!

What I Wore:

jean jacket - Cherokee
dress - Disorderly Kids
shoes - Faded Glory
earrings and ring -  Justice
watch - unknown
